Rilakkuma and Kaoru: Heartwarming and Relatable Series

by: Tan Triesia “Every flower blooms in a different period.” Rilakkuma and Kaoru is a breath of fresh air–a heartwarming and cute, calming, and beautifully thoughtful show. The show follows Kaoru, a single and working-class woman, going through the everyday challenges of her life with her animal friends, Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, and Kiiroitori. Kaoru passes through her young adulthood without many close friends, lacks relationships, and is not really interested in her job. Her animal friends helped Kaoru as she went through everyday frustrations and found her self-worth.  The life of Kaoru highlights every small and relatable moment in life. We learn the same lessons as Kaoru throughout the year, fully understanding that new challenges will come.  Accepting Change In one of the episodes, the apartment they live in will be demolished. Kaoru searches for a new place as the situation forces her. Kaoru and her animal friends must leave their lovely apartment with so many memories and say
